Mutual Exchange
The RFHA Tenancy Agreement gives our residents the right to assign their tenancy by way of exchange, subject to permission. This means that they can swap their home with:
• another RFHA tenant;
• a tenant of another Housing Association;
• a Local Authority tenant;
RFHA has joined a scheme called 'House Exchange' - visit www.rfha.houseexchange.org.uk to join. This is a free, nationwide service that helps with exchanges.
In order for the exchange to go ahead, both tenants must obtain written permission from their own landlord.
Permission will not be unreasonably withheld, but approval could be refused for a number of reasons.
